Badges add a clear and fun way for students to see their progress as they build core coding and computational thinking skills.

What Are Pico Coding Badges?

Pico Coding Badges are achievements students earn as they complete activities and challenges on the platform. Each badge recognises meaningful progress, whether that’s finishing a lesson, exploring a new theme, or developing consistent learning habits.

Badges help students understand what they’ve achieved and encourage them to keep learning.

How Pico Coding Badges Work

Students earn badges by:

• Completing coding levels and themes

• Progressing through different learning streams

• Taking part in special challenges

• Returning regularly to continue learning

Badges are awarded automatically as students learn, making progress visible and rewarding without distracting from skill development.

Types of Badges on Pico Coding

Pico Coding includes several badge categories so students can be recognised in different ways.

• Discovery Badges: encourage curiosity by rewarding students who explore new themes, try different content streams, or personalise their learning experience.

• Completion Badges: earned by finishing a set number of levels in Pico Coding’s core learning streams, including Data Representation, Algorithms and Design.

• Skill Mastery Badges: recognise strong performance, focus, and productivity, such as completing multiple activities in one session or achieving results on leaderboards.

• Streak Badges: reward consistency by recognising students who log in and learn over consecutive weeks.

• Quest Badges: awarded for completing themed challenges or special activities within the platform.
